Mojitos
One day in Pasadena, me and a friend visited Mojitos.  As with any restaurant we visit, I always order anything they considered a, “Signature” item.  When our waiter asked us what we would like, and I inquired about their signature items, he simply pointed at the door and said, “Mojitos, it’s on the door.”  When our drinks arrived, I was surprised by the flavor, or what I construed as lack of.  My friend, seeing that I wasn’t impressed by the authenticity of the drink, proceeded to explain the spirit of a Mojito.  She leaned forward as she tapped her glass and said, “You have to understand where this drink is coming from.  When I am sitting on the beach in Miami, the sun is hot and the sea air is salty, a good Mojito is perfect because it’s not too sweet.  You need something cold, clean, minty, and crisp to balance out the senses.  That’s why this is a real Mojito, and not sweet like the other bars might make them.”  That being said, I now understand two things.  Thing number one: I now understand  the spirit of a Mojito.  Thing number two:  I appreciate the value of going out to lunch with a friend.  That’s what being social is all about.  I would suggest you try both, Mojitos with a friend.

Addin:  The Mojito had an “earthy” flavor.  If mother nature had house guests, this is what she would have served.
