Xiomara on Melrose specializes in Nuevo Latino and Asian-Cuban cooking, but their pride and joy is their mojito. “XIOMARA’S MAMBO” mojitos have a slightly different taste due to the fact that they are sweetened with fresh sugar cane juice in lieu of sugar. If you are a fan of authentic mojitos or you just want to try something different, give this island favorite a try. Definitely upscale in their décor, Xiomara asks that you come dressed appropriately when dining. Expect to spend around $75 per person for appetizer, a drink and an entrée. Xiomara is a hybrid mix of a high priced restaurant and a quaint neighborhood bistro. Their menu is very specialized and their prices are a bit high. Their wine list is acceptable, but you may find it lacking some variety, maybe due to the specific food type served and difficulty in pairing. If you enjoy Nuevo Latino food or are looking to sample something new, then Xiomara may be a good choice, but remember to adjust your attire and budget accordingly.
